Beacon of Hope, a nonprofit 501c3 organization and partner of Lynchburg City Schools, was created with a single mission in mind– to increase the number of Lynchburg’s students who matriculate and complete some form of post-secondary education, whether it be technical certification, trade school, two-year college, four-year college, or military service. Beacon of Hope is not only preparing students with the tools they need to pursue higher education, they are working with LCS to enhance the “college-going culture”. Future Centers in the high school serve a universal population of students to help provide resources and remove the barriers that prevent students from pursuing degrees after high school.
